The heartbeat of our church is to see lives changed by the power of God’s Spirit. We believe that every person has a God-given purpose inside of them.

When God’s Spirit moves on us, we move closer to God’s plan for our lives.

Zion Mennonite Church was organized on February 18, 1940, with the help and grace of God. From the beginning, our aim has been to proclaim God’s word and to minister to anyone willing to hear.  Simply put, our mission is to win the lost to Jesus Christ.  Due to the church’s growth, a new ZMC church building was built in 1973, and is located on the north edge of town.  Approximately 30 years ago, Zion Mennonite Church made a values-driven prayerful decision to disaffiliate from the Mennonite conference and to continue serving Christ as a Bible-based independent church.  On March 06, 2022 we voted to change our name to Zion Bible Church.

Located in Bridgewater, South Dakota, our community offers a relaxed small-town life with close proximity to urban amenities.   The cities of Sioux Falls and Mitchell are just 30 minutes away and serve as the commercial, medical and educational centers of southeastern South Dakota.  Because our regionally consolidated elementary school is located in Bridgewater, our community is attracting new and young families.  Reaching these families is perhaps our greatest outreach opportunity.   We also support missionaries who have been sent into key locations throughout the world. Even though our community population is just under 500, the realistic outreach radius of our church easily touches over 3,000 people. Bridgewater’s regional economy is firmly rooted in agriculture but people choose to live here for much more than farming.  Local residents enjoy family connections, a good school, a true sense of community, proximity to cities, outdoor activities and socially conservative values; all of which create a great place to raise a family.
